The weather is warming up outside and so is October’s viewing schedule. Although this may result in a few less binge sessions we want to make sure we give you the heads up on some of the must watch movies and TV shows set to hit Netflix and Stan this month.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie – Netflix
The highly anticipated Breaking Bad movie will be released on Netflix on 11 October. The movie follows on from the last season of the TV series where we saw meth maker Jesse Pinkman dramatically escape from a neo-Nazi compound.
No one’s too sure about what the Breaking Bad movie will be about as the brief synopsis simply states 「Fugitive Jesse Pinkman runs from his captors, the law, and his past.」 It’s also unclear whether Bryan Cranston will return in flashback form. All we know is that – if you』re a Breaking Bad fan you』ll want to be glued to your screen.

Eli – Netflix
Just in time for Halloween is the spooky story of Eli, a young boy with a unknown, debilitating illness. Eli’s parents place their trust in a doctor whose experimental, cutting edge treatments may potentially cure him. Sealed off from the outside world at a secluded clinic, EIi discovers that the place where he is living isn』t as safe as he thought.

Peaky Blinders (Season 5) – Netflix
Making its debut on 4 October is the fifth season of the popular British crime drama series, Peaky Blinders. The series is set in Birmingham and follows the exploits of an urban gangster family, the Shelbys, in the aftermath of World War One. The drama series has won several BAFTA awards and is set to continue for at least two more seasons.

Big Mouth (Season 3) – Netflix
Adult animated sitcom Big Mouth will screen its third season on 4 October. The show, beloved for its inappropriateness and vile humour, continues to follow a group of 7th graders who are struggling with puberty issues. Although it’s dealing with teenage subject matter, the jokes are directed at a mature audience and for that reason it’s rated accordingly.

Power (Season 6) – Stan
Popular American crime drama, Power, is back for its sixth and final season. This gritty New York series depicts the life of drug kingpin Ghost (Omari Hardwick) who wants to leave the criminal world but ends up living a double life. It stars 50 Cent as Kanan Stark, a fellow drug dealer and Ghost’s former mentor. The fast moving action has more than enough plot twists, surprise deaths and great acting to keep viewers coming back for more.

Godfather of Harlem (Season 1) – Stan
Set in the 1960s, Godfather of Harlem is the true story of notorious crime boss Bumpy Johnson (played by Forest Whitaker) who returns after 10 years in Alcatraz to find his neighbourhood controlled by the Italian mob. American reviews have so far been positive with Time describing it as a 「rare gangster epic with something new to say」.

Looking For Alaska (Season 1) – Stan
Created by the people behind 『Gossip Girl』 and 『The O.C.』, looking for Alaska is a TV mini series based on John Green’s acclaimed novel of the same name. It follows Miles 『Pudge』 Halter (Charlie Plummer), a bored teen who meets the incandescent free spirit Alaska (Kristine Froseth) at Culver Creek Boarding School. After getting to know her, he finds out that her life isn』t as perfect as he thought.
